Therefore, it can be abolished and the new congress is obligated to get rid of it. Living under the umbrella of 'fear' is all it causes, and though we are not as safe as we should be today, in the United States; we certainly must not be ridiculed by those that vow to protect us. It really seems that the current president needs a way to control our lives and to eventually disarm us, as we were warned by our forming fathers of the Constitution - as they made it clear that this might happen and prepared our rights to eliminate government from becoming too powerful over the People of the country. If we are ever completely disarmed as a People of this country, it will be a direct hit on our Bill of Rights and we must stop this before it is really too late. We have the right to protect ourselves, and we are privleged as a free society to our privacy. I say let's disarm our congress and let them see how it feels to not sit in Washington, D. C., as this president is nor the messenger or a God, nor is he ordained the KING of our country. What were we thinking when we elected to not push this away from the table in the first place? Our Constitutional Rights are taking hits worst than ever and elected Democrats, Republicans, to include the AI over the last five years are the cause of it. We elected them to fight for us when the time requires in Washington, D. C. and not to sit by and take whatever comes easy for the sake of a certain BILL or special interest. Whatever! |

I do not live in fear under an umbrella of government. Yes, I do feel ridiculed by those who vowed to protect us - they have not done enough. Playing patty cake with our enemies is terrible policy.
It sounds to me like you've been riled up by the liberal media and far left wing to say your constitutional rights have been taken away - it's propaganda against Bush. He's not the best president, but he shouldn't be the target. Sorry, but I have to disagree with you on this one. Cheers to our military for allowing us to voice our opinions. |

I have to agree with MOM56...Patriot Acts I & II do nothing but allow our government to invade our privacy...our medical records, our library records, monitoring what we are reading to which can lead a classification of terrorism if it is written by any one whom in any way supports those whom we consider terrorists......this is a control tactic!!!
More people need to read the Patriot Acts to see what is truly allowed by them, or should I say taken away by them. Schools teach us/our children that we have rights...when we get out into the real world, even with embracing diversity, find this not to be true, especially when poor/indigent with a valid functioning mind. I have seen that when too many people are getting together for the right reasons & using what is in place to appropriately address aspects...a war breaks out, etc......which I do truly feel is a diversionary tactic to take our focus off of things we need to deal with in this country but some of these things needed addressing YEARS ago. Terrorists are already planted in this country-so I feel, & being in bed with the enemy is not the way to go! Taking away our right to bear arms will not hurt those who already ILLEGALLY obtain weapons!!! Do any think that this will stop those who already do not follow the rules/laws??? One tenth of a law is adoption, nine tenths enforcement & we already do not have enough to enforce the laws currently on the books &/or how many who do not know when friendship ends & job descriptions begin. We need to take care of our own backyard before someone else's. This country's backyard has enough to be addressed. |
